My mom is 94 and wants to live alone with her cat as long as possible. Being an hour away from us makes it difficult to see her more than once a week. With her having early dementia, remembering to do daily tasks such as taking her daily meds from a weekly pill box, feeding the cat, personal hygiene and eating her meals became our primary concern. With daily lunches being delivered, adding Seniors Helping Seniors services during a 3-hour period each day not only ensured that she was eating a hot meal each day but that all of her daily routines were being accomplished. This piece of mind helps us tremendously in knowing she is, with help, able to live alone successfully. The flexibility offered by SHS in adjusting their hours of visit, taking her shopping and in knowing their help is only a phone call away has only confirmed more of our decision to utilize SHS to assist us with her care. They have become like a member of our family!
